Spring (Teeth) Cleaning

Clean Your Teeth… And Your House

As spring is quickly approaching, you’ve most likely got dirty baseboards and window sills on your mind. But the truth is, taking care of your body is just as important as taking care of your home. A perfect place to get started on taking care of your body is with your teeth. So here’s a few guidelines to take care of your teeth (and your kids’ teeth) during the spring season.

1. Visit the dentist twice a year

It may seem like twice a year is too often to see the dentist, but this is the best way to keep your teeth clean and cavity-free. Your dentist will not only help you take care of teeth that are already decaying, but your dentist will also help you prevent future decay.

2. Make a brushing and flossing routine

Most dentists will suggest that you should brush your teeth twice a day and floss once a day, but even these simple routines are hard for many people to follow. So figure out something that works for you. Set an order to getting ready for the day and getting ready for bed so that you have no excuse to forget these important habits!

3. Get a new toothbrush!

Switching out your toothbrush at least twice a year is a good way to keep your teeth clean and healthy. Find a toothbrush that fits your mouth’s size. Then find the right bristle hardness (for most people this will be a soft-bristled toothbrush). When you’ve found the right fit with both of these requirements, make sure your toothbrush is ADA approved, and you’ll be ready to brush!

All of these tips will help you to keep your mouth clean year-round, but if you haven’t been keeping up on dental care then this spring is the time to start! These tips were brought to you by Bear Creek Pediatric Dentistry, a trusted pediatric dentistry in Medford, Oregon.
